Reaching a blah point in life

I know I may sound redundant, Im only 21, but have you ever felt that you've reached this point in your life( actually Ive reached this point several times) where you feel like a machine? There's nothing to look forward to, and youre just going through the motions? I've been feeling like this for the past few weeks, like Im falling through a bottomless chasm of boredom. I watched two movies with my roommate over the weekend in the hopes of bringing my spirits up. As I have a taste for bollywood as well as kollywood movies which are mediocre, I rented the two most mediocre movies I could think of "Siskiyaan" and "Dil Jo Bhi Kahey", but even I wasn't ready for this medieval form of torture I was going to put myself through. I like horribly made movies cos' they make me laugh, but I wasn't ready for the mentally agonising after effects of watching these films.

Where do I start? Let me start with "Siskiyaan". My first question is why is Neha Dhupia still acting? The premise of the story is that a doctor in a relief camp rapes this woman for three days nonstop, that too fourteen times! And the joke is that she is blindfolded so she dosent recognize him by his voice but she can recognize him by his smell! And his beautiful reason for raping her was she was the wife of a sucessful journalist so he wanted to show that he could prove something to rich successful people like that, by raping her. I didnt know whether to cry or to laugh. What kind of premise is this for a movie? A woman identifies her rapist by smell or whatever, and Im sitting here..watching this BS and thinking; isnt this an insult to raped women? Here are these two bad actors Neha Dhupia and Sonu Sood, making a mockery of a sensitive issue like rape, what was the director thinking? Anyway I got through that joke of a movie and I said to myself that "Dil Jo Bhi Kahey" should be better, but I was sadly mistaken as I put myself (and my poor roommate) through another joke of a movie.

" Dil Jo Bhi Kahey" didnt have a bad story - aaah who am I kidding, it was horrible. All I have to say about this movie is that SOMEONE SHOULD BAN THAT CREATURE (THE HERO), permanently from acting.

I actually ended up rolling with laughter looking at this poor guy trying to act cool and everything and suddenly I was gripped with a sense of deja vu. He looked like a fake Shahid Kapoor! Shahid Kapoor himself is a D Grade actor but I actually missed his acting skills while watching this movie.

I do have an early christmas party to go to next week so hopefully I can get out of this rut of boredom Im stuck in (or get drunk or something). So adios for now.

I had to comment on the Kushboo controversy........

A Tamil actress Kushboo was literally ostracized for saying that an educated man should not expect his wife to be a virgin. She also said that premarital sex is quite rampant today and the least people could do was to have protection.

What was wrong with this statement?

Sadly Indians are in a horrible state of denial when it comes to sex. How is our population the second largest population in the world? Only through the so called "Purity of wedlock" did a billion people come into existence? Think people, THINK ( oh my god, maybe this is a sign, 'denial twist' by the White Stripes just aired on VH1, music speaks to me!). God has given you a brain, maybe just maybe, use a little logic, if our population is bursting at the seams and we have the second largest number of AIDS cases in the world, then the answer is a big fat YES, PEOPLE ARE HAVING SEX, PREMARITAL, EXTRAMARITAL WHATEVER, YOU NAME IT, that's what people are doing. Why don't Indians want to accept this? Do babies rain from the sky? Do people get AIDS in an honest marriage? Sadly that's the yarn which Indian people have spun for themselves and don't want to escape from.

The politicians who made this a big deal, should think for a moment, just for a moment and the answer will be clear to them, it takes two to have sex. AIDS, teenage pregnancies, STDS and other REAL problems in our society are not contracted by a man having sex with himself, he has sex with a WOMAN. Simple, dear politicians and self proclaimed "culture police", just use the most important organ in your body, your BRAIN. These so called politicians are the biggest hypocrites, having numerous wives and mistresses, indulging in open goondaism, and prompt colleges to adopt a strict dress code to uphold the "culture" of our nation all in a days work! Culture sadly has become a convenient excuse for these politicians who don't know anything about our culture in the first place. Our "culture" gave the world Kamasutra and openly celebrated sex and sexuality with erotic images in temples like Kajuraho. Hinduism is one of the very few religions which accept sex and sexuality as part of life. Maybe these politicians should read up on our culture, oh wait, most of them are UNEDUCATED.

Kushboo should be thanked for using her star status for trying to give advice with an iota of sense, unlike the so called 'macho' heroes in our movies who openly categorize women as either sanctimonious virgins or filthy prostitutes, while prancing around with a bunch of women themselves.

I can go on and on, but I'm going to stop with this: Indians should learn to accept this reality, I'm saying ACCEPT not know this reality, because Indians do know, but have created a reality for themselves, a reality based on make-believe "culture", a reality where babies fall from skies and AIDS is spontaneously generated in the body.

The day my "mental strength" in keeping up with my diet was tested........

After depriving myself for three weeks of normal food, today I went berserk and had four bowls of cereal(still with skim milk!). I dont know if this is the sensible or reasonable way of starting a blog, talking about cereal but hey, its MY blog and I feel like writing about cereal now, even if Ill look back at this later and feel like a moron. Trying to lose weight is not as easy as SOME people think it is especially if you are not necessarily overweight, but just want to lose about 20 pounds tops. Well thats all I feel like saying today. Hopefully there'll be no "cereal killing" tomorrow!
P.S: This shows how supportive my friends are of my diet, I was mortified when one of my friends sent me this pic.....but I still thought a fanlisting for 'Honey Bunches of Oats' was hilarious so here it is......
